After seven years and 99 units built, the Pagani Huayra has reached the end of its lifespan. The flamboyant hypercar will go out with a bang with one last specially-designed unit, the L’Ultimo, which according to duPont Registry was built specifically for Brett David, CEO of Pagani’s Miami dealer Prestige Imports.
Set to arrive in June, the L’Ultimo is the result of a eight-month collaboration between the Modenese carmaker and David, using technology that allows clients to render their car virtually. The car will arrive at the Prestige Imports showroom in June.
Wearing a silver and green livery in a tribute to the Mercedes-AMG F1 car that dominated the sport with Lewis Hamilton in the driver’s seat, the L’Ultimo sports a few updates compared to the “standard” coupé, such as a larger front splitter and a fixed rear wing. The green theme continues inside, this time paired to white seats and copious amounts of carbon fibre.
The mechanicals are unchanged, so the engine continues to be a 6.0 litre twin-turbocharged Mercedes-AMG V12. Not that it needs any more power because even in standard trim it produces a thumping 720 hp at 5,800 rpm and a full 1,000 Nm from 2,600 to 4,200 rpm. A seven-speed Xtrac sequential automated manual transmission sends all that power and torque to the rear wheels.
Missed out on a Huayra? Don’t despair because the Huayra Roadster and the high-performance Huayra BC are still in production. Besides, you’d probably be able to badger Pagani into making one specially for you if you have enough money, judging by the special-edition Zonda models still being churned out years after production has ended on the Huayra’s predecessor.
