A woman has been branded a 'monster' for being ungrateful when her daughter-in-law knitted her a blanket - because she used wool bought with a gift voucher to craft it.
The unnamed woman believed to be from the US wrote to The Slate's Dear Prudence advice column to complain, explaining that she had bought a gift voucher for a local yarn shop for her son's wife as she enjoys knitting and crocheting.
But she was left 'dismayed' when months later she received a bedspread knitted from materials her daughter-in-law bought with the voucher.
'I told my son that we'd in effect paid for our own present and that he needs to communicate to his wife how improper and stingy this move was. He refuses, saying that her labor and time were also part of the gift.'
The letter has since gone viral on Twitter since The Slate writer Nicole Cliffe posted in on Twitter, calling the mother-in-law a 'next level b****', and followers were in agreemenent, labelling the disgruntled woman a 'monster'.

However, her son and daughter-in-law could not see the issue and she revealed relations have been strained ever since.
