It even had to be covered in a black tarp and towed away, rather unceremoniously, like an old Vega wrapped in its death-shroud.
Our tipster says engineers worked for about 20 or 30 minutes to get the mule restarted before giving up and covering the car. They then waited for a tow truck to bring the C8 back to its home at GM’s Milford Proving Grounds.
As admittedly funny as this is, I’m not sure I’d look too deep into it—for now. Development prototypes run into issues and break down all the time. It’s the whole point of testing. But coming on the heels of the reported electrical issues, problems with the aluminum chassis and other, unspecified design issues, it’s not a great look.
The car should be revealed later this summer or fall, if GM can get it sorted.
