Bentley's smaller sedan will borrow a plug-in hybrid powertrain from the Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid, Autocar reports, thanks to technical details gained from a development car that was spotted out in the open in London, of all places, wearing minimal camo. This means that the Flying Spur, a corporate sibling of also VW-owned Porsche, will likely receive a version of the twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6 along with a hybrid setup.
In the current Panamera 4 E-Hybrid, that powertrain system churns out a total of 462 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. In U.S. guise, the gasoline engine is good for 330 hp and 331 lb-ft of torque and the electric motor produces 136 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. That motor is located between the engine and the eight-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. In the Porsche, this combo is good for sprints from 0 to 60 in just 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 172 mph.
