Exact fuel-efficiency figures haven't yet been confirmed, but CO2 emissions are said to be "less than 49g/km" from the 508 Hybrid and 508 SW Hybrid, meaning they'll qualify for the lowest 13% Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) company-car tax band. The technology will also introduce new driving modes, including "ZEV 100% electric" and hybrid settings, along with a four-wheel-drive option in the 3008 Hybrid4.

Peugeot 3008 hybrid
Fitted with a 197bhp PureTech petrol engine and two electric motors (one at the front and another at the rear), the 3008 Hybrid4 produces up to 296bhp and can sprint from 0-62mph in 6.5 seconds – making it the fastest version in the 3008 range. Its rear motor ensures four-wheel-drive traction and a 13.2kWh battery pack provides its 30-mile electric range (as calculated under the latest WLTP testing procedure). When its battery pack gets low, the Hybrid4 can be recharged in less than two hours using a 6.6kW wallbox charger.
To keep things neat and tidy, there's a charging flap on the rear left wing, illuminated inside with guide lights to make it easier to plug in at night. These also change colour to indicate its charging status, and when not in use, the charging cable has its own storage area under the boot floor. You can also closely monitor the plug-in hybrid system on the i-Cockpit digital instruments. A "direct access" button on the touchscreen will serve up efficiency data, remaining charge and the available driving range.
At launch, the Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 will only be available in the range-topping GT trim level, with full Mistral Black leather upholstery and 'aged grey oak' wooden trim. Several months later, a front-wheel-drive Hybrid version with 222bhp will join the range and it's possible this may be offered in more affordable trim levels, too.

Peugeot 508 hybrid
The Peugeot 508 Hybrid and 508 SW Hybrid get the front-wheel-drive setup from the off, with a 178bhp PureTech petrol engine and 109bhp electric motor, producing up to 222bhp combined and sending power to just to the front axle. They feature a smaller 11.8kWh battery pack, but it's enough to provide the same driving range as the bulkier 3008 Hybrid4. All three cars use a new e-EAT8 eight-speed automatic gearbox that can harness power from both electric and petrol sources.
Discussing the new models, Peugeot product director Laurent Blanchet said: "They give our customers the opportunity to buy a powerful 3008 SUV AWD or a 508 (Fastback or SW) that is efficient and provides improved sensations."
