A frustrated workman has dramatically demonstrated how his supposedly secure Peugeot van can be broken into in five seconds - using only his fingers.

Jay Vassallo lost £2,000-worth of equipment after his Peugeot Expert van was targeted by thieves on June 23.

The 40-year-old discovered to his astonishment that the van can be broken into simply by pushing his fingers into the back of the sliding door and pulling.

Mr Vassallo, from Brentwood, Essex, made a video to make other van owners aware of how easy it was for thieves to break into Peugeot vans.

The video starts with them saying: 'Lock van' and suddenly a locking noise can be heard with his hands appearing slightly in front of the camera.

He then says: 'Deadlock' then clicks the keys again and the van can be heard locking again.

Mr Vassallo then walks over to the van doors to show the van has been sealed. He then tries to open and is unable to unlock the door.

He then bends down on his knees and pulls against the bottom of the door with moderate force before the van can be heard unlocking.
