Visually, the most obvious difference for the ’19 model year is the signature Diamond Pentagon grille and LED headlamps. The new grille is joined by a more aggressively styled hood and front fascia. The rear decklid, taillights and lower diffuser are also new for ’19.
As for modern driver-assist features, the standard AcuraWatch suite comes with a collision-mitigation braking system, a forward-collision warning system, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise and road-departure mitigation. There’s also a lane-departure warning, which you’ll eventually find the button for and be able to turn off.
The new ILX will start rolling into showrooms in the second week of October starting at $26,895, which puts it right about at a fully loaded Honda Civic’s price point. That means that the ILX could peel off Civic buyers who want a more upscale look for approximately the same MSRP.
